Support Birds in Flight Sanctuary
You’ll Help
Save Lives
Whether you donate once or regularly, you will be helping us rescue wildlife in need, provide lifesaving treatment, and the care, nutrition and rehabilitation necessary for them to return to the wild.
We do not receive any state, federal or county money. All funding is from private donors.
Birds in Flight Sanctuary is licensed by the U.S. Fish & Wildlife Service and the Ohio Division of Wildlife.
Thank you to our donors and supporters!

NAME BiFS AS A
BENEFICIARY
Naming BiFS as a beneficiary of your retirement plan, life insurance policy or other asset is an easy way to support our work. Setup can be as simple as filling in an online form. Dedicated software will walk you through the process.
A BEQUEST
IN YOUR WILL
A gift in your will or living trust extends your help for ill and injured wildlife—and often allows you to make an even bigger impact than you ever thought possible. Whether you give a set amount or a percentage of your estate, you will be making a difference to wildlife in need.
DONOR ADVISED
FUNDS
A donor advised fund (like a charitable savings account) gives you the flexibility to recommend how much and how often you donate to BiFS. You can recommend a grant or recurring grants now to make an immediate impact or use your fund as a tool for future charitable gifts.
APPRECIATED
SECURITIES
If you’re looking for a tax-smart way to lend your support, consider a gift of appreciated securities. When you give appreciated stock, mutual funds, or bonds that you’ve owned for more than one year, you can avoid capital gains tax and receive a charitable income tax deduction when you itemize.

Donor Clubs
Want to Help a Specific Type of Bird?
The donation for the group you chose will fund the veterinary care and feeding of that specific group while they are at the sanctuary. We rehabilitate hundreds of birds annually, and each of them needs the support of donors like you to fly free once again. As a Donor Club member, you will receive:

- Certificate suitable for framing.
- Donor recognition on our website.

ADOPT A RESCUE
Become an adoptive parent and support the care and feeding of one of our raptors. These are birds that have been treated but are not able to be released back into the wild and require care at the sanctuary permanently.
Choose an adoptee from the list below and you will receive:
- A beautiful color 5″ x 7″ photograph of “your” bird.
- A personal biography explaining how “your” bird came to the sanctuary.
- A Certificate of Adoption suitable for framing.
- Donor recognition on our website.
Adoptions are $50 per month.
To adopt a bird just click the “Adopt” button under their name. Your donation will be debited monthly from your credit/debit card via PayPal.
Adoptions make a great gift for that special bird lover in your life.
Remember the birds on birthdays, anniversaries and holidays.
RAINA
Red-tailed Hawk
RAINA
Red-tailed Hawk
Raina was brought to our sanctuary as a four-week-old baby. She had fallen from the nest soon after hatching and was illegally taken care of and fed the wrong diet for a growing baby.
When BiFS took her in she flapped her wings once and broke the bones in each wing in six places. With great care and the right diet she healed, but the damage to her wings was permanent.
She joined our program in 2010.
SHILO
Harris’s Hawk
SHILO
Harris’s Hawk
Shilo was found in 2006 as a fledgling with a healed broken wing. His wing appears to be been broken when he was about 2 weeks old. Old fractures cannot be fixed so he needed to be placed in an education program.
We acquired the necessary permission and license from the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service to accept him into our education program .
